And that was a WorldCon. I have no photos, because I was far too busy meeting and greeting and talking and gesturing and drinking (and not so much with the eating, interestingly, although there were some excellent meals).

It's been the usual mix of business and pleasure - People came to my signing(s), my panels went quite well, with many compliments afterward, and the various meals and hanging-out-in-bars were enjoyable blends of networking and socializing. I met new people, got to make (I hope) interesting and amusing comments into a mic, cheered friends winning Hugos and consoled those who didn't, and managed to avoid any alcohol-related hangovers.

I was surprised and gratified by how many people have come up to me this weekend, looked me up and down, and said "you're working out, aren't you? Looks good!" I'd noticed an improvement in my cardio and muscle tone, of course, but I hadn't realized it was obvious at a glance. Quite pleased.

Anyway. The sole plan for today is "go home." While I will miss all the friends I saw this weekend, this is a very good plan, as after four days of intense hob-nobbing coupled with not enough sleep (even by my standards), I've got a case of People Burnout.

But I also got some excellent news this weekend, more on another rock...

Of the forthcoming Collared (November 2012), Publishers Weekly sez:

Fantasy writer Kornetsky’s charming first mystery introduces an enterprising heroine in Ginny Mallard, the owner of a fledgling concierge business in Seattle, Wash., and a supporting cast that includes a couple of four-footed friends. While having a drink in Mary’s, a neighborhood pub, (Ginny) overhears realtor Walter Jacobs worrying aloud to the bartender, Teddy Tonica, about his uncle, Joe, and a batch of important papers, both of which are missing. Hoping to gain a new customer, Ginny volunteers to find Walter’s uncle and the documents, recruiting Teddy to help. Aiding in their search are the bar’s resident “mouser,” a gray tabby cat named Mistress Penny-Drops, and Georgie, Ginny’s half-grown puppy. Meanwhile, the two amateur human detectives trade banter and strike up a wary friendship. Vivid descriptions of Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood are a plus in a cozy tale that will draw in even those normally skeptical of animal-centered stories. Agent: Jennifer Jackson, DMLA. (Nov.)

Wooo!

(in other words, twee successfully avoided, despite presence of both a cat and a dog. Go, Ms K!)

Due to a sudden and severe upswing in spam, I've restricted comments to registered users (LJ, Open, Facebook, etc)

Hopefully once things calm down again, I can change it back, as I prefer an open forum.
