The way my mind works sometimes...

Avengers tower= the Island of Lost Toys.
Santa 'rescued' the lost toys once Rudolph convinced him that he could possibly make use of one not-standard individual (Rudolph).
Therefore, Nick Fury = Santa.
Since, like many people, my takeaway from the Rudolph story was that Santa was kind of a dick (also: Yukon Cornelius and Hermey the elf were totally a couple), this totally works.
