So, I have a wedding to go to this month, and it's outdoor, evening, "think Great Gatsby" event.
So I look in my closet. I have a lot of lovely outfits. Most of them are either velvet (not in June, outside!) or black (not for this wedding, no). There is that 1920's-style dress, but I'm not sure bright red and fringed is the statement I want to make.
[for laughs, I try it on. Yep, still fits. I need to find a reason to wear this thing again because I can actually DO bright red. Also, fringed flapper dress. Your argument is invalid.)
(And hrm, there's the impulse-buy purple. No, velvet, and also, floor length. Not the thing at all but I need to get nominated for something so I have an excuse to wear it.)
There's my stand-by summer weddings-and-cocktail party floral dress, which I adore... but two dry cleaners have't been able to get a stain out of it, and I'm only holding onto it because I can't bear to let it go. Shut up. It's a pretty dress. I look good in it. Stupid stain.
This, really, just says I need to go clothes shopping, right? Right?
[ I am an unapologetic clotheshorse....who happens to work at home and have a freelancer's budget. Buying new clothing is almost as much fun - and as dangerous - as buying new books.]
Oh. And I might need new shoes, too. Or at least, get my Cuban heels resoled...
