I Made a Thing!
Apr. 21st, 2011 12:16 pmA Thing, for those new to this journal, is what I call any mostly-improvised dish that probably has so many cultural variants, each with its own tiny differences, that you can argue for years over what it's actually called and where it comes (like Swedish meatballs).
In this case, it involved leftover brisket and boiled red potatoes shredded and chopped coarse, plus hot paprika and thyme and sea salt, and a sheet of dampened, crumbled matzo*, and two eggs, well-frothed, plus some garlic and dried onion, hot-scrambled in a frying pan.
*has full tummy and happy tastebuds*
The only thing that could make this better would be buttered rye toast to crunch alongside.
