lagilman: coffee or die (naptime)
and lo, she is home from Boskone.

(Wow. A lot of people snuck in while I was away! Feel free to say hi [or not, as your shyness dictates]. Bar's there, hot tub's on the deck, and mind the gators underfoot [please don't feed them, they're on a strict troll-only diet].)

Quickie report: The hotel is still going through a shakedown, but overall I approve, and the space is nicely laid out. The concom did a good enough job that no obvious strains, stresses or seams showed through (if I hadn't known about the flooding, I would never have known about the flooding). Panels were well-attended, the dealer's room and art show were both reasonably impressive (you could always tell when someone hit the "book man" corner of the art show, from the shout of delighted laugher). I might wish that Arisia and Boskone could bury the hatchet somewhere safe and give us ONE Boston winter convention, but that's a mutter for another time.

On a purely selfish reportage: People showed up for my coffeeklatch, my reading, and my signing, for which I thank you all. I damn near sold out at Larry Smith's table (including the emergency restock), discussed a potential new project, got actual Work done [gasp!], bought only a single solitary but very neat shiny, acquired only one new book, and had a dinner that couldn't be beat courtesy of intrepid tour leader EBear.

Oh, and I brought my fellow panelists (including TNH) to a full stop with the conversation-approprate phrase "here's the dildo. Bend over."

A few photos were taken. They may or may not appear here, depending on who sends cash, and who says 'publish, and be damned!"

Meanwhile, I need to Make Nice to the kittens, reply to e-mail, and collapse.
