L'shana tova

I am, as I said to my sister this afternoon, a sole practitioner (who needs a coven minyan, anyway?) and not entirely devout in it, but certain holy days and rituals still resonate within me. And so tonight, I have apples and chestnut honey and a glass of a rich red wine with which to welcome in the New Year, and tomorrow I will attend services at my sister's synagogue and, for a moment, allow the rituals I was raised in to bring me to a better peace with myself, my loved ones, and those around me.

And so, to all who celebrate, and all who would share in our celebrations, I wish you l'shana tova tikatev v'taihatem. May you and your loved ones be inscribed and sealed for a new year, a good year; a year of health, of happiness, of love.
