Sunday, Lazy Sunday
May. 28th, 2006 04:54 pmYesterday was hectic, with my sister's clan visiting (which resulted in my bookshelves being picked over, my cd rack invaded, and the cats being thankful I'm child-free, but that's another story). Tomorrow and Tuesday, I shall have a mad influx of a Social Life. But today? Other than walking into town to hit the bank, and picking up prescriptions and new furniture acquisitions, I have been a lazy, almost indolent meerkat.
Working, yes, because every day there is work to be done. But the sense of urgency which usually drives me is taking the day off. I've been poking at the book in small doses, interspersing it with some reading-for-enjoyment, sitting on the sunporch listening to Angela downstairs play her violin (advantage of having a music school grad student living downstairs -- even practices are lovely), and in general just being calm and peaceful and enjoying the warm breeze and cool shade. Even the cats are snoozing. Okay, so they're almost always snoozing.
Of course, I also feel like a total slacker, because there's a to-do list the length of my arm sitting on my desk. But it will be gotten to. Eventually...
Just a friendly blogging reminder: don't merely note the moment. Savor the hour. They're rare gifts when you get them.
