lagilman: coffee or die (dreams)
I have a vulture hanging over my shoulder. Okay, so it's only Pandora. But her recent trend of sitting hunched over on the back of my work chair is... alternately endearing and annoying. And no, she's not doing it 'cause she loves me and wants to be closer to me, it's because that way she can get warmth off the space heater without being in the direct blast of hot air. Well, maybe a little 'cause she loves me. But mainly cause she loves me when I'm near the space heater.

I'm going to teach her. I'm turning it off.

Othrwise, it's pretty much a Monday. I just typed the line "Give that monk a cookie!" and giggled madly. And yesterday I got spam headed 'eavesdrop homicide buffalo' And, y'know, the visual I got from that was... bizarre. To say the least. Still giggling.

I take my amusement where I can get it. Which is why I've stuck a photo of a friend doing a remarkably silly thing (you know who you are and what you were doing) on my monitor. Impossible to be in a bad mood looking at that. So see? There was a purpose to it after all. Does that help ease the mortification any?

Spent the morning doing up some editorial comments on someone else's story, and then opened the Retrievers2 files and roughed-in chapter seven. I think it works, I truly do. Just waiting on feedback to discover if chapters 1-6 make any sense whatsoever.

And Pandora has moved from vulture-post to lap-kitty position. *sigh* She doesn't seem to understand that when she does that I will use her as a wrist-rest....

And yes I am procrastinating. My bad. Going away now.

I am eating a bowl of my leftover chili and shredded cheddar.

Chili and cheddar are zen soul foods.

which is much less harsh than a poetry slam, natch.

I can't help it. I get into Moods. And when I Mood, I Verse. And then it only gets Werse. *wince* Haiku is my preferred weapon, but I had a side helping of Cicardi with my Frost, Levertov and William Carlos Williams as a child, and as you can see I'm not afraid to doggerel or pun, either.

Come one, come all. Bring your good verse, your bad verse, your heartfelt and your snarky verse. You have nothing to lose but your dignity, and hey, if we all do this together...

No grading, no voting. No rules, regs or poetry police. Just having fun and stretching a little. I want to see something from everyone -- yes, everyone. I see you in the corner there. Come on, come out!

What? You want me to go first?

All right.

You turned once to say
Something, I’ve forgotten what;
I regret that now.
