And my car is visible only as a large lump of white, with one window peeking out where the wind cleared a space. I think I'm going to leave it alone, at least until they finish clearing the walkways and them as have to get out, do so. I've got no overwhelming desire to wade through knee-deep (and in some cases, hip-deep) snow until absolutely needful.

Like, oh, Monday. *grin*

Official snowfall report for my town is 15". Sounds about right.

And so endeth the blizzard. Back to work.

Update: well, I actually did go dig my car out, mainly because a small but cheerful party was forming in the parking lot, and it seemed like a good time to go out, meet some neighbors, borrow someone's shovel...

And I have coined (or at least adopted) a new term -- joie de neige. Seems to suit my mood, right now.

I know the feeling. Mine is probably not so covered, but only because it was in a parking garage for a while...or I could be wrong...my window is iced up, so I can't check.

You don't gotta go anywhere anyway. You gotta work.

Oh, yeah, I had fun with a similar incident years ago: I was in college in PA during the Blizzard of '78, and since classes and student teaching assignments were all cancelled for a couple of days I didn't go out to the dorm lot to dig out my car as soon as the snowfall stopped. The people parked on either side of me did, and the campus plows also went through a few times, so when I finally did head over with my shovel, there was an ~8' heap of snow piled up--over my white VW Beetle... I had to take soundings with the shovel handle, listening for the thunks to locate my car.

Joie de neige! Bon!

ApprĂ©ciez la tempĂȘte de neige, juste ne mangez pas la neige jaune.
