comment has nothing to do with your post, so I apologize. However...

1. Wanted to say "hey!" I was just checking out your site and discovered your LJ, and therefor had to add you. I absolutly love your stuff.

2. I love, your icon. Caffeine and I are a little too friendly.

And thats about it. Just wanted to give a short quasi rant on how much I adore your writing, as well as the icon, and let you know that I added you.

I echo the applause, at the expense of being annoyed with my VCR. Either the VCRPlus code was wonky, or the settings got accidentally changed somehow, so that I missed the first hour owing to my VCR recording an hour's worth of the wrong (blank) channel.

However, the second hour was enough to give the flavor. And the tech is impressive, although I bet Alexander-the-butler's synthetic voice repertoire gets old after awhile. (Or can they reprogram the system, I wonder?)

I came in just about exactly as the credits were rolling on the first hour (from catching the local Sunday evening rebroadcast of the past week's new Antiques Roadshow episode, which was running against it). So I knew that many things had Gone Wrong, but got none of the details.

As it happens, one of our Seattle-ite compadres from the GEnie days lives about five miles from where Ty and company were working on last week's episode, and has LJ-commented thereon -- I hesitate to mention her LJ username in the clear, however, as the post (and most of the accompanying journal) is friends-locked.

I also kept thinking, as they were showing the revamped house interiors, "lord, please don't let them get robbed..."

Well, I noticed the security system going in (which isn't a perfect panecia, but at least makes Loud Annoying Noises at appropriate times).

I missed the first half hour of the first hour, but it made me cry. Again. And while they were fretting about not getting done on time, I was all, "Hello? They are so not going to care if it takes a day or two more." As proved when Ty called them and their response was, "We get to stay another day!" (Staged or no, it was cute.)
