Finally got around to reading my finished copy of DREAMS MADE FLESH by Anne Bishop (it's a January '05 release). This is a collection of stories set in her Black Jewels universe, and since everyone knows that AB rocks my reading world, it's probably no surprise to hear that I meant to read just one story before bed...and was awake until 3 this morning finishing the entire collection.
Good, solid, engaging work, although I will admit that the only story that knocked my socks off was The Prince of Ebon Rih, although Zuulaman is fascinating for the look at some Realms history. If Weaver of Dreams had been a little more fleshd out (terrible and unintentional pun) I would have rated it much higher. (I had to keep reminding myself as I read that I was no longer her editor, I shouldn't make side notes as to what she should have done here or there...)
Still. There's nothing of Anne's work (IMHO) that's not worth buying.
