On the other hand, he knows that the best thing to do for a stressed writer-mommy is to come up to her, go on two legs, and give her a big hug around the neck, then proceed to chew her hair until she laughs and does kitty-ups to make him stop.


His big sister Pandora, on the other hand, knows that the best thing for a stressed writer-mommy is to have a feline sleeping snuggled up against her legs while she works.

Best of all possible worlds, right there. Except the stress part. Must remember, when asking the freelancer gods to ensure a steady flow of work, must also ask for a humanly-achievable schedule for said flow.


*checks level of caffeine in i.v., refills bottle, goes back to work*

Grab kitten with both hands(for large kittens, anyway), supporting body from underneath. Raise kitty overhead. Lower. Repeat.

Also good for toning flabby underarms.

Wow. :-> I think I'd need gloves for something like that. Then again, Indiana is just over 3 months, and has two speeds: run-around-like-a-maniac and sleep.

Yeah, Felicia named him (you remember FAOS from GEnie?). I was complaining that my roommate and I couldn't decide on a name, and after I vetoed her first suggestion, she said, "You should name the cat Indiana!" It stuck. :-> I frequently call him Pooky, though, so I think his full name is Indiana Pook, not Jones.

SUCH a cutie! Looks a lot like my Pandora, who is also a mackerel tabby. Indiana was a calico. Oy, was she a calico, proving the whole 'callies are nuts' rule.

You know, I'm starting to think I should get two cats too. All writers I've met personally seem to have them. Well...KRAD and Terri, and you now...so maybe not all. But cats seem to keep popping up... ;)

Pandora, because she's deeply curious, but rather skittish.

Boomerang, because he was adopted from a shelter, then returned, and then adopted by me a few weeks later.

Indiana, because she was found on my way home from the opening-day showing of THE TEMPLE OF DOOM.
