Can't remember if I mentioned the fact that I got my author copies of SPOOKS here or not.

So. I got my author copies of SPOOKS. Interesting antho - a mix of fiction, non-ficiton and poetry on the topic of, well, spooks. Haunts. Ghosties. And other unnerving things. My story, "Disposession" is about a ghost who can't just let death go by unremarked. A friend pointed out that if CSI's Gil Grissom were to find himself a ghost, he'd probably be similarly annoying.

And the issue of Realms of Fantasy with my story "Talent" is on the stands now.

And we now have a publication date for YOUNG WARRIORS, said date being October 2005. So I'll have at least one thing out in time for World Fantasy in Madison. Good to know.

You, sir, have Not Been Paying Attention.

Spooks is the ectoplasm-child of Tina Jens and John Everson at Twilight Tales. Just out in trade paper, and a good value for the money, methinks.

Young Warriors is a YA anthology edited by Tamara Pierce, coming out from Random House and is, natch, about teen warriors. My story "Serpent's Rock" takes place in Australia, featuring an Aboriginal teen forced to abandon everything to rescue his sister. Got to play with the slipperiness of time distinctions in that story, which drove the copyediter nuts (they're very literal and linear creatures, poor dears).
