As the parent of a 25 year old with chronic health conditions (Crohn's, asthma and gout) I'm daily thankful for the ACA. He ages off of our insurance next year but, thanks to Kaiser Permanente and John Kitzhaber (who's made Oregon one of the leaders in developing health care exchanges), we've got coverage for his treatments. As it were, if it hadn't been for the provision that allowed kids to stay on their parents' insurance until they turned 26, this spring's sickness, hospital stay and surgery would have been catastrophic to the tune of at least $100,000.

So as you can imagine, there was much joy in this household yesterday.
