lagilman: coffee or die (meerkat meh)

So I'm not supposed to work after 7pm. But blogging isn't work, is it? That's interacting with people...kind of. If you comment, and I comment back, that's not work, right?

I can see that this "New Healthier Regime" is going to be a work in progress. Ah well.

So I spent today working on the 1st pass of FIXED, which is the sequel to this coming November's COLLARED. And I'm coming to realize that the theme of these mysteries is less 'everyone lies' or even "everyone's guilty' than 'nobody thinks what they know is all that important/relevant.' And of course, sometimes they're right, and sometimes they're wrong... but in the end, everyone's exposed more than they're comfortable with.

Why yes, this IS a cozy. But it's ME writing a cozy. :-)

As soon as I'm done with this pass, I can start on the page proofs for COLLARED, and thus make note of all the things i couldn't remember when writing FIXED. You see? There is a madness to my method. Or, wait, no...

It rained all day today. ALL. DAY. But since I'm still feeling hammered (ball peen rather than Sunday's blacksmith's hammer), this didn't bother me all that much. And I managed to get through the day with only one nap! Um, assuming we're not counting the time I fell asleep at the computer.

And I managed my first 'real' meal (that required more than calling for delivery or sticking a celery stick in the jar of peanut butter). Yellow zucchini sauteed with garlic, onion and minced candied ginger, served over brown rice. My taste buds judged it acceptable - when I'm sick, my tastebuds go on strike - and my stomach hasn't rejected it, so yay.

Weirdly, I've been totally meat-free since Saturday. Even the thought of flesh makes me want to not eat ever again. I'm sure this will pass....

Okay. Time for me to go away from the computer and do something totally Not Work for a few hours.

Considering that at this point in my life 90% of my friends I first met online, blogging is very much interacting with people.

Ooh, actual adult conversation? Count me in! Not something I get much of now that school is out for the summer and the kidlet is home all day.
