State of the Meerkat, briefly
Apr. 26th, 2012 06:54 amI am working on a post about something that happened last week, that threw me off-stride until I'd worked it though, and somehow, despite having worked it through, writing about it is hard. Or maybe I just have an awful lot of other stuff to do first (2 things to proof, the copyedit of the first mystery project to look over, two client edits, the Kickstarter promotion, and yeah, all that writing thing I'm supposed to be doing).
Plus, Pandora's been not-well, and that means Boomerang needs extra handling/cuddling, so even the non-work time has been kinda busy.
And I go on vacation in fourteen days*. Not that I'm counting down or anything (yes I am). This is my first non-work-related, non-writing-retreat vacation in... two years? Maybe. (I don't count weekend getaways in this; those are more breathing spaces than actual vacation).
I suspect I'll be writing during that time (this is me, after all) but the main priority is going to be on Having A Good Time. If the only thing I write are my own trip-notes, that'll be just fine.
And then, when I get home, it will be the start of the Crazy Time, with a book out in late July, a book out in September, and a book out in November. And some new digital-only releases coming, too. Um. Wheee?
*to anyone who thinks this would be an excellent time to burgle the apartment, you run the high risk of encountering CatSitter A or CatSitter B, both of whom are fierce (and CatSitterB does not like being woken up by surprise visitors). So...yeah. And did I mention that my Super looks like Dolph Lundgren gone slightly to seed, and is very protective of 'his' building? Might want to reconsider. Anyway, what would you take, the plants? The cats? The books? That's about what I've got...
