Saturday I woke early and did some work, and then went out into the world and had lunch with Yet Another Visiting Israeli (that's 2 this month, sheesh) wherein we discussed publishing, travel, food, pets, and picked on mutual acquaintances. And apparently although I can resist all chocolate in the world, I cannot resist a caramelized apple crepe. Omnomnomom

Then I went on to Union Square, wherein I did not buy new tech. Or the 1920's Chinese low chest on sale for a mere $900, although I was sore, sore tempted. I did, however, buy organic garlic, apples, pears, local cheeses, and pheasant sausage. And I came home and used much of that to make dinner.  Nom.

(I regret not buying the rabbit from the same source as the pheasant, but while carrying a small carcass around NYC is not precisely frowned upon, it will get you some odd looks on the subway, after an hour or so.  But oh, rabbit would have been so nice...)

So yes, Saturday was about Food.

I also came home to news that the Royalty Fairy had stopped by, and provided sufficient infusion for me to put several small schemes into motion.  Yay small schemes!  Watch me invigorate the economy! Well, poke it a bit, anyway.

And I was going to make cookies, but I fell over instead.  Well, fell over with a glass of wine and [livejournal.com profile] madrobins' new book, which is just as yummy as cookies.

Sunday was a bit of a blur as I did All The Housework, and then headed out to friends' for an evening of football watching (ouch) and eating and drinking and, well, Socializing.  In the way that we sometime forget how to do, locked in our day-to-day busy-ness and digitally-connected activities.  Need to remember to do more of that.

And also, the older cats get, the more they look like aliens pretending to be cats.

And now home, thinking of All The Things I need to do tomorrow, and thinking maybe sleep instead of more reading.  But the book, it is so yummy....

You should have bought the rabbit, despite the odd looks on the subway!
