I made it to the gym (and back again). I am not going to venture beyond the reach of the AC again until after sundown.

Ugh.

Leverage was awesome. It was an old trope but they did good with it, and let Aldis and Beth shine brilliantly. Especially Aldis, who normally doesn't get to show his range. Also: Danny Glover, who was the linchpin.

I love the fact that this show can still please me, 4 seasons in, by taking the known and turning it to better show a different angle....

+1...No Like...Uggh!!!

Hehe...Still enjoying Leverage as well, though I'm still having to wait to see last night's episode as the child had only returned from cub scout camp and thus had three days of missed cartoons to make up for.

Personally, I think it's the banter and relationships that makes the show fun to watch, because we already know it's going to follow the over-the-top last-second-twist-to-save-the-day trope, and even the season spanning metaplots are easy enough to predict a few episodes, but the back and forth makes it fun while staying just this side of camp.

And hrmm...on a side note, I wasn't logged in initially when I responded, but LJ can take logins from FB, Twitter, OpenID, GOogle and two things I never heard of Mail Ru and Vkontakte...now if only it let me do more with those multiple login / authentication sources...

I got teary-eyed watching it. Yeah, it's an old trope, but as you said, they did a really good job with it. Some plots are classics for a reason, and the actors had the skill to pull it off and make you feel it. Plus, it's always good to see Danny Glover. :)

Last night's ep made me cry. I loved how they incorporated all the contemporary characters into the flashbacks.

I am in similar mode, expect that I am not venturing out again in the wet. The things we do for gym!

My gym changed its summer opening time, from 7am to 9am. Since I can only go in the morning at 7am, this has made it difficult for me. I'm going to try to get the gym to tack on 2 months at the end of my subscription.

I'm going the gym tomorrow to plead my case. Wish me luck!
