So, a very good actual game yesterday, enhanced by my not giving an emotional damn about either team, so I could just sit back and enjoy it. Seeing Roethlisberge get hit did wonders for everyones' mood, no matter who you were rooting for. (it's wrong, it's bad karma, but still... so satisfying) The half-time show... well, there was lots to mock, let's say that.

Commercials: VW wins teh Internets for both mini-Darth and the racing beetle, which was just Damned Brilliant. The Kia commercial was cute, the Audi "prison break" ad deserves its own spin-off show ("Soap" meets "Fawlty Towers" meets Martha Stewart), and Go Daddy was actually clever and self-mocking for half a second before reverting to type. The Doritos commercials were Just Wrong, and really, let's not talk about Groupon, or HomeAway.

Oh: Dear Sealy - that would have been a great-for-the-ages commercial if you'd had a single gay/lesbian couple in your "everyperson" roundup. Seriously.

Movie trailers: "Cowboys and Aliens" once again looks to be the most fun you can have with buttered popcorn, "Captain America" may be fun, and "Thor" didn't do anything for me but some other folk had geekgasms so to each their own...

Food: We had a lot of it, all yummy. Most of it was devoured. I managed to save some of my chili (nom) for later this week, mainly I suspect because Bill & Beth were home sick. :-(

And now it is Monday. Work to do. Renovations to liveblog....

I thought the Chrysler commercial with Eminem was the best of the night --I'd already seen the mini-Darth commercial via YouTube last Friday-- but I simply couldn't watch the GoDaddy commercials.

Oh, and Roethlisberger didn't get hit enough for my taste, not only because of his behavior but that he plays for the Steelers.

I probably speak for the rest of the AFC North teams' fans that I am so glad I won't have to hear all of the smack from Steeler fans for another year.

But then, as I said, they reverted back to type, which is not just sexist but stupidly sexist.

The Faith Hill commercial for Teleflora made me wince, too.

I really do adore a bunch of the car commercials this year. They actually seem to have hired good ad companies!

I can't wait to see Cowboys and Aliens. Geeky, silly goodness!

The mini Darth had us rolling, it was so awesome. I had to explain the racing beetle to the guys.}:/

Got tired of all the Bud Light commercias after the first 2.}:/

Loved the Audi commercial.

Go Daddy, eh. They can go away now.

The second Doritos commercial had the guys squicked, lol.

Didn't see Groupon or HomeAway, in fact missed a good number of them because the hubby refused to back it up so I could see them, cause I was getting dinner ready. Should have with held dinner, methinks.

Saw the Cowboys vs Aliens trailer in the theater, was interested then, am still interested. Capt. America still isn't grabbing me, hubby wants to see it. Thor I'm 'meh' on, but again, hubby wants to see it- he's a big comic book fan, bigger than me.

Oh, yes, from a Ravens fan, so happy to see the Steelers go down in flames.

Apparently I'm the only person who liked the Carmax ads. The full service gas station was priceless.

Yeah, going from a sappy Hallmark moment to a Neanderthal moment just plain hurt.

This. The Steelers going out like that lessened the sting of watching that circus down at Paul Brown Stadium for another year. And I don't just mean the product on the field.

I thought Carmax was okay, but the full service gas station one was creepy. In a good sort of way.

It is a GOOD thing you didn't see the Groupon commercial. Twas unfunny in the worst sort of way.

*watches*

Dear Timothy Hutton, please stay with Leverage. This commercial was complete and utter fail. Never do it again.

Signed, me, a Leverage fan.
