Day Rest of the Renovations

co-op rules say - reasonably enough - that no renovation work can be done on the weekends. And so I have a day off. Surrounded by dust and debris, but quietly.

I should get some work done today, shouldn't I? Also, chili-making for tomorrow's Gameday. Nom.





The Wall o' Plastic that separates my living space from the actual construction. On one side, the entrance, hallway, and the bathroom (and the door to my bedroom, also taped off). On the other, the living room, kitchen and my office. Note the zipper-door through which all shall pass. The wall works surprisingly well, except when a cat runs into it. *sigh*



The shower, as of 4pm Friday afternoon. Plumbing installed, boards installed, ready (almost) for patching and plastering. The window has a new framing, yay! The floor is still a disaster - they won't be pouring the cement until Tuesday at the earliest. By the way, the new shower head? Has a temperature setting. No more "hot or cold" but "I'd like 110 degrees, please." *loves*

Very nice, I commend their OCD attachment patterns. DO THEY DO WORK IN CT??? Oh wow, their quality of work made me yell that out, I mean, yes...urm, would they dare come here and do work for say, you know, other people across the boundary.

and the shower appears to be of a height where an actual person can stand under it, rather than crouch and contort to get the body wet.

well, I suspect people of varying heights would argue that. But yeah, it's set for about 6'.

That's some good quality sheetrock. Is the tub still original?

Yeah - I saw no reason to replace the tub, as it's a nice, solid, good-depth beastie. They'll resurface it, but otherwise leave it alone.

These guys do solid work. A year in, and there's not a single flaw showing in my kitchen (and y'all KNOW I work that kitchen hard).
