I did some political ranting over on Facebook. This just felt dangerously close to "nice self-pity party there, Gilman" territory, which I find somewhat distasteful and utterly useless, and even if someone did then respond, it would have the feel of "only because you pointedly brought it up," which is even worse.

You can always listen. You don't have to follow the advice if you don't agree with it. (I knew I was a grown up when I did the right thing despite the fact that my mother had told me to.)

I'd have been interested in the rant too. I'm terrified of where the publishing industry seems to be heading, and nobody seems interested in talking about it except for folks who either can't get or keep a publisher and continue to expound on how independent e-publishing will bring a golden age to all us writers.

I remain dubious.

Every time I receive a new royalty statement in which I (nor my agent) can make heads or tails out of the e-book sales, I seem to get more nervous.
