for those interested in stalking the wild author: my Capclave schedule, as per the last iteration of the website..
Friday 5pm Abusing Authors
Panelists: Eric Choi, Laura Anne Gilman, C.J. Henderson, Lawrence M. Schoen, Alan Smale
Panelists answer whatever questions the audience has on writing, editing, character development, agents, and others. Includes many non-writer-parts-of-being-a-writer, such as being your own boss, setting schedules, and so on.
Saturday 11:30am Reading (either something from WEIGHT OF STONE or the forthcoming PACK OF LIES)
Saturday noon Fiction for the ADD Generation
Panelists: Laura Anne Gilman, Dina Leacock, C. Alan Loewen (M)
Markets are opening up everywhere for stories of 500 to 1,000 words or less and with the advent of Twitter and Facebook, there are markets for stories just a few sentences in length. In this panel we will discuss the markets, the writing techniques, the agony and the ecstasy and the future of writing the super-short story.
Saturday 2pm World Building; planning and execution
Panelists: William Freedman, Laura Anne Gilman, Edward M. Lerner, James Maxey, Bud Sparhawk, John C. Wright
What is it, how do you do it, and why does it matter to the readin experience (and when/why DOESN'T it matter?)
Saturday 2pm-4pm Group Book Launch Party -- I'll be there for the last half-hour after the Worldbuilding panel ends! (yeah I know, but when the scheduling gods command....)
and then from Saturday 4pm-5pm I will be in the "Authors Hallway" to sign books and answer questions/pose for photos/reveal embarrassing facts about my friends and fellow writers....
There is also the official Capclave Autograph Session from 8pm-9pm Saturday night, if you missed me during the day.
I will be Sir Not Appearing At this Convention on Sunday. :-(
And for those in the Harrisonburg/Charlottesville VA areas, remember I'll be in ur bookstores signing ur books on Tuesday and Wednesday nights!
