when is a bookday not a bookday?

Tomorrow, the paperback edition of FLESH AND FIRE is out in the world. I will not be there to greet it, being many miles away in France, so I'm asking y'all to stand in for me: Go to your local bookstore, and pick up a copy (if you already own a copy, buy one for your sibling, your best friend, your parent, your pet; books make the best presents!). Or, if you can't shell out the $10 (less than half the price of the hardcover! but I know how finances are), kvell to someone browsing the stacks about what a wonderful book it is, how much you enjoyed it; how much you're looking forward to the NEXT BOOK COMING OUT IN A MONTH!*


*ahem*

If you won't do it for me, do it for my agent and my editor, who have been so good about keeping me from panicking, and deserve some happiness in return...

I'll be here, waiting for your reports. Alone. In the dark. With a cat. And a bottle of wine....


And speaking of the next book; emaileth fakefrenchie, before even asking after the cat: "Weight of Stone was bloody incredible. When is the third book coming out?"

Considering she saw the manuscript in my luggage....

Well, I haven't been able to really get out to a bookstore for the past couple of days. I've got this training that's been dumped in my lap, and I'm supposed to finish it this week, or else. (I resisted asking "Or else what?" My boss was not amused about the whole enchilada, and I didn't want to annoy her further.)
