So I sent DRAGON VIRUS off to my in-house proofreader/copyeditor/picky person to mark up and return to me, and I got this email in response.
I was totally captivated by the story even though it gave me chills. As each generation created even more Changes, they had to eat up the ones that reflected the changes that came before, didn't they? So that by the end, the new generation didn't even seem to be related to the original humans (no more loving the baby you had to smother), even though there were obviously some leftover "normals" here and there. But not for long, I bet! I'm simplifying my reaction--the truth is that it gave me nightmares last night.
She got it. She really Got It. *happy, if evil, writer*
