21 people at last night's dinner. My family, it sprawls, and includes people not-related-by-blood-or-law. There needs to be a term for these people, rather than "my sister's best friend from high school's eldest daughter whom I diapered and much later advised on college," ferinstance. But there was enough food (please, this IS my family) and enough wine (likewise) and enough laughter, and at least one embarrassing story was (re)told...
And now I am home, minus the CutePuppy but reunited with SuspiciousCatz, and with an essay about how writing is like traveling with my dad percolating in my mind but I probably won't write it because nobody come here to listen to me natter on about the writing - you want to hear about the cats. And the wine.
Neither of which I'm going to talk about now because I have over 300 e-mail messages downloading and then I have to do laundry, clean the apartment, and get some work done...
