Things (not quite 5, but taking up the volume thereof)

The heat wave seems to have broken - a lovely 61 degrees here this morning with a predicted high of 80. I approve, I definitely approve. My entire body -- although achy from lack of sleep -- is already bouncing back, and my brain is less fogged and cranky.

[the lack of sleep was due to a dream about Disaster of Bathroom proportions, which is due not only to the bathroom renovations being planned, but Someone's rather detailed description of his own Bathroom Disaster. Thanks, pal.]

On the plus side, I woke to a request from an on-line travel guide to use one of my photos from the Dublin trip in their guidebook, under a Creative Commons license*. I had thought at first they wanted to use the one of Dublin Castle, which I love



but no, it was



Fair enough. So now to see if it makes the final layout cut.


And my to-do list today, this last day of June, is kinda insane, so off I go, hatchet and red pencil in hand...








*I take photos for my own enjoyment and eddification, and don't aspire to pro-dom in that field, so creative commons is the way I chose to go. The only time I charge is when people want physical copies, and then it's just to cover my costs.

I just got out of a conf call that I took on our back porch --I didn't want to wake the kids up and these calls can get, um, feisty-- and the 56 degrees out here in the Midwest was chilly enough that I had to grab a sweater.

After 90s with heat indexes over 100, this is very pleasant. Unfortunately, it's supposed to be right back in the sauna after the 4th, so it'll reach you by Tues/Wed.

I'm fleeing town on the 3rd for a week Up North, so hopefully will avoid all that (and the felines, so long as they have water to drink and a tile floor to sprawl on, seem perfectly content)
