workin' for a living...
Jun. 17th, 2010 09:10 pmSpent all day on a line edit, spending tonight reading submissions. Feels like 2002 all over again. But tomorrow I get to go back to the writing, yay!
Meanwhile, The Rep From Texas, Joe Barton, has apparently apologizing to BP for their being asked to pay for their massive and cost-driven fkcu-ups.
Why am I so not at all surprised? Oh, because he used to be a consultant for ARCO, a subsidiary of BP. There's Joe, one hand on his wallet, the other on BP's drill, giving it a few last shakes....
On the other hand, the attack dog growls! VP Biden responds to Rep. Barton's 'apology': "Since you know I never say what's on my mind..." http://bit.ly/9FGAxm

Date: 2010-06-18 02:53 am (UTC)In the four hours between his televised apology to BP — for what he called a $20 billion “shakedown” by President Obama for loss claims in the gulf oil spill — and his apology for that apology, Mr. Barton, a Republican from Texas, had been pummeled in the blogosphere, assailed by Democratic Party operatives and Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., and, in the blow that landed, threatened by Republican leaders with being yanked from the party’s top seat on the powerful House energy committee.
