Spent all day on a line edit, spending tonight reading submissions. Feels like 2002 all over again. But tomorrow I get to go back to the writing, yay!

Meanwhile, The Rep From Texas, Joe Barton, has apparently apologizing to BP for their being asked to pay for their massive and cost-driven fkcu-ups.

Why am I so not at all surprised? Oh, because he used to be a consultant for ARCO, a subsidiary of BP. There's Joe, one hand on his wallet, the other on BP's drill, giving it a few last shakes....

On the other hand, the attack dog growls! VP Biden responds to Rep. Barton's 'apology': "Since you know I never say what's on my mind..." http://bit.ly/9FGAxm

Meanwhile, for those who might want to do something but don't know what...

Joe Barton can kiss my butt. Though I don't think we can expect a whole lot more than talk and wrist-slap fines from the Dems. It's worth noting that, while Barton's collected near 1.5 mil in campaign cash from oil companies, Obama's collected almost a mil himself:

And this is what really scares me: NO ONE in DC is going to stand up to the many-tentacled monster known as Big Oil...

...meanwhile I'm looking at all the plastic involved in the twins' diapers and thinking about how hard it is to not be a part of the problem :(

You realize that the same repubs that voted for Barton were claiming that Obama was soft on BP because of a measley $70,000 donation they made to his campaign? Right.

Thanks for sharing -- I hadn't caught that in my news yet.

And I also worry about all the plastic we're consuming.
