Holy shit, people, I take a few hours off to sit in the park, drink a soda, and read a book I keep falling asleep before I can open* at night, and the stock market decides to take a massive bungee jump?

*is wide-eyed and awed* OMFGwow. Just...yeah. Someone with acid-proofed innards may have made a LOT of money today. More people lost.** We'll see what the rest of the week brings...

EtA: "BULLETIN: Tokyo sells off in wake of U.S. losses; Nikkei, Topix lose more than 3% in minutes." Because, in case we ever forget, as small as the world has gotten, the financial world is even smaller...



Meanwhile, the indirect sunlight was nice, and the book is good, although not so engrossing that I needed to keep reading, and so now I am back and still have a bunch of work to do and a bottle of wine that's calling my name...

They are thinking Greece was only part of it. They think that someone may have fat-fingered an electronic trade that added an extra zero to a large transaction (I think for Proctor & Gamble)...

Oh, there was more than enough going on in the financial world to trigger nerves, and yeah, the SEC is investigating some potential OMGWTF. But Greece is still what's making everyone even more trigger-happy than usual, right now.

I have no doubt that we're headed the same way. Only cure is to raise taxes and drastically cut spending. Which won't happen because any politico who suggests that will lose their cushy jobs...
