EtA: I've offered a signed hc of FLESH & FIRE and an audiobook of same to the Nashville flood auction; how about you? http://bit.ly/9wswoV

I just realized this scene I'm writing? Is Competence Porn. Yay for the Competence Porn!
/Leverage-speak
Meanwhile, Robots & Vamps reviews FLESH AND FIRE via the audiobook version. Money shot: "Flesh and Fire is not quite the page turner of a Brandon Sanderson or a Karen Miller novel, but it is a very close second."
*author is not displeased.*
As a side note to the review's caveats, I will say only that Anne, as narrator, checked with me regarding the pronunciation of the names before starting. So while her accent is rather different from mine, you should be able to rely on her to get them right (disclaimer: I haven't had a chance to listen through yet, myself.)
And yes -- Yer-zeh, not Jer-zee (or Joi-zey, wiseass). Think more Polish than British!
In other news... I have no other news. I have been good today, resisting the urge of perfect weather (low 70's, steady breeze) to Work! (ok, I took the scenic walk home from the gym this morning, and again when running errands after lunch, but that was all, I swear!). And yet, I don't feel like I was all that productive.
-1,200 new words on the short story that's unstuck (1 week before it's due)
-nearly1,3001,700 new words on TVW#3
-some Business Stuff dealt with, after required thought and discussion.
-two sets of contracts signed and taken to the post awful, along with books that needed mailing-out
-bills paid
-in-box culled. a little.
-prepped a bit on the next 'having an agent' essay
and I went to the gym, and I made a ground lamb ragu for dinner, and... and I'm certain there's something Really Important I've forgotten to do. But I've forgotten that I've forgotten it, if that makes any sense whatsoever...
Maybe, if I get another 1,000 words in before I sleep, it will be okay? ("Hi, my name is meerkat, and I'm a deadline-obsessive writeaholic...") Mind you, I'm not crunching the deadlines, particularly. They're just.. there. In front of me. Waiting.
