I have received my author's copy of RUNNING WITH THE PACK (edited by WFA-winner Ekaterina Sedia) and, of course, immediately went and looked at my story, "werelove." And, for the first time since writing it, was able to read it with the eye of Someone Not the Writer.
And, y'know? That is a damned interesting little story. Is it good? That I can't say. But it's interesting. And I think it says exactly what I wanted to say, in both the surface bluntness and the layered undercurrent.
Am very eager to find time and read the rest of the stories therein. Good-lookin' antho, yes. Would look good on your shelf.

I also got my VIP tix to the shuttle launch when I'm down in Florida for the Nebulas. I'm always anxious about things like this -- the thought of something going wrong, etc -- but I'm almost having a small geekgasm at finally seeing one live-not-on-tv. Hopefully, the weather will co-operate...

Still puppy-sitting, so working at a computer-not-mine today. Back to TVW#3, after some intensive OtherJob hours. I really, really hate this keyboard, enough that I may switch to longhand for the rest of the day. This -- for those who sneer - is another good reason to keep in practive with the written form: so you never have an excuse to say "oh well, can't write today..."
Also, this gives me an excuse to go out to the Park with Puppy, later today. Not that I, y'know, neeeeeeed an excuse.
Also also: the resident coffeemaker totally misjudges how many scoops of coffee it takes to make a decent cup. 'm just saying... (ok, I like mine strong. I only get two cups a day!)

Date: 2010-04-20 01:05 pm (UTC)I thank you for that vote of confidence. I'll still be wearing a (metaphorical) bridesmaid's dress, and enjoying every minute of it. :-)
