Dinner last night at John's Pizza with a number of old high school friends, plus kids. It was a mob scene, and a lot of fun, and I came home as exhausted as if I'd been all weekend at a convention.

Introvert, me, yeah.

Interesting, though, to hear a friend I haven't seen in 25 years mention how determined I'd been, even in high school, that I was going to be a writer. I hadn't realized I was quite that overt about it. I mean, I always knew, yeah, but I also knew the odds. I guess I was stubborn and focused, even back then.

Off to Boston (in the rain, oh yay) this morning for Passover; lugging parentals and puppy, toffee, and manuscript. Holiday or no, the project's got to be finished this week. The work, as I said at dinner last night, never takes a day off. Not really.

But it's worth it when someone enjoys the results: like this book-blog review who kinda likes HARD MAGIC. Oh, and apparently the book also got 4 stars from RT, although I haven't seen the review. Some day I'll crack that 1/2 star extra... (or, y'know, maybe not.)

And on that note, I'll 'see' y'all in a few days. Happy Passover to those for whom it's applicable. Have a survivable Monday, the rest of y'all...
