Big Plans for the Day

- finish editorial notes for the mystery I acquired for Carina, and discuss with author
-drink coffee
- finish revisions on Part 3 of WEIGHT OF STONE and send off to the readers of last defense
- drink tea
- take Pandora to the vet, to see what condition her condition is in
- do laundry
- drink more tea
- contemplate drinking wine No wine, a little Scotch.
- go to bed


I really do need to get to the gym -- I haven't been since Friday, and my body feels it. But my body also feels like I crashed it headfirst into a tree st some point (tired, aching, dizzy) so the gym is not going to happen today.

I know that I'm being amazingly efficient and productive, all things considered. This sense of slugdom and malaise is part weather, part exhaustion, and part my writerbrain being its usual annoying overdemanding self.

But hey, I have a new, working vacuum cleaner! And goat cheese on a fresh-baked whole wheat roll for breakfast! Of such small things is a day brightened....

I was wondering if you were going to post your take on the signing of the healthcare bill sometime soon. Just curious, you know.

My take is simple: decent first step. Only a first step. Still massive abuses to curb, and long-term problems to be ironed out.

Same take on the new banking laws being proposed.

System as-is is broken, and not the kind duct tape can fix. As much as I'd like to see drastic overhauls, I'm a pragmatist and will take it one step at a time. This is "Reform" not "Reformed." Work in progress.
