Day 1 of the 2-Day Writing Push
Dec. 22nd, 2009 12:10 pm3,100 words written between 7:30 and 11:30 am this morning, plus Yay! for suddenly having stuff I'd written into the story coming to the fore and Making Sense Now. I love it when the plot finally unfolds and delivers itself to you in a way that picks up all the loose ends and weaves them into something functional...
Still 2.5 chapters from pre-draft, and then I get to go back over and make it actually, y'know, may sense to a reader who isn't me (aka "filling in the "do X here" notes). But that will be a job for January. For now, I can hear the dragon warming up at the end of the tunnel...
And I let myself eat three merigue kisses. OMG I make good meringues. See the sugar rush peak and then crash. Wheee! Offset by Earl Grey, hot, and Gala apple slices wrapped in prosciutto [and, EtA, leftover turkey and apples in curried Greek yogurt].
This afternoon, while my brain regrows, I am Year-End Filing and Bill-Paying. The cats are utilizing solar power to warm the sofa. Later, we will work on short fiction revisions. And a copywriting gig. And maybe a nap....
