weekend update (non-social stuff)
Jul. 5th, 2004 09:04 pmSo very, very tired.
My goal going into this weekend was to get something other than the party accomplished. I'm pleased (and tired) to announce that I have done so.
Specifically:
Two bookstore signings being arranged for September for the Magic & Mayhem tour (NJ this time, details to come)
7,000 new words written on the YA project (3,900 of that today, go me! [did I mention the whole 'very tired' thing?])
60 previously-written pages of the YA project edited for revision
A d.y.m.k. client's notes typed up and sent off to him.
Massive amounts of essential paperwork dealt with
Books and press releases prepped to go off to local papers for STAYING DEAD promo push
Did I mention the almost 4,000 words accomplished today? The joys of trying to balance Arthurian myths, YA sensibility, and a desire for historical accuracy is slowly driving me insane. Insaner. More nuts. Whee.
Oh, and I got my hair cut. Finally. Managed to resist the urge to chop it all off. I'm told this urge is normal. Resisted anyway. Despite the 4 inches sent up to the hair gods, it's still shoulder-length and sort of sleekly shaggy.
Tomorrow, back to work. For now, the rest of the evening belongs to me, the tub, some freesia bubble bath and a few glasses of "Four Roads" shiraz...
ETA: The next song on this cd is "My Lover." I cannot count the ways this song manages to both inspire me and send me into tears. Melissa is such a heartbreak goddess. If you're an artist, you must know this song.
