Long, fun day outside*, wandering the Winter Fairs with neadods, and then Adventures on the way home (I was MUGGED by the Container Store. Mugged, I say! But Nice People helped me get everything home...)

And along the way, in addition to many many cops (I had my bag bomb-tested on our way into the F train, and the 1 was halted for cops to do a quick visual search) we also saw many other Suspicious Characters wandering around...



Apparently, today was Santacon. Sadly, I did not get a photo of the Reindeer-furry in Union Square. Or any of the elves.

I don't want to hear ANYONE cracking jokes about SF fans, ever again.

And now, am wiped out, but still have wordage to accomplish. And tomorrow afternoon I will be doing my thing at the Yonkers (NY) B&N, selling books to benefit the Yonkers Public Library. Don't worry, I'll remind y'all again tomorrow morning...





*point of info: a cashmere blend coat and cowboy boots will keep the cold at bay. The wool beret and leather gloves helped, too. Cooooold but sunny.

re: Container Store - oh yeah. I have three ginormous boxes in my one-room apartment right now: an ELFA drawer unit that has yet to be put together and another shelving thingie, equally unassembled.

That's not to mention the other items I bought and had delivered b/c they do not fit in SmartCar.

Container Store pwns me.

He had what looked like a real deer head, with a huge red lightbulb on the nose, and blinking white lights on the back of the head. I was too busy goggling in shock to grab my camera.

I visited a friend in NYC last year during Santacon. It was fun to see all the young people wondering around in Santa suits, drunk off their butts.
