And now, having allowed myself to get worked up and let down in a relatively short time, my brain has decided that of course it's time to have a fit of Oh Woes teh Career sux nobody fangrrls/boys me never gonna be (fill in blank).

And I made it worse by having a small but deadly piece of fudge on an empty stomach. Gilman, thy moniker is "Idiot."

As my therapist once said, it would be easier if I actually was manic/depressive. Instead, I maintain a normally even keel, with occasional short, tight rebounds where I know if I just sit tight my sense of humor will recover, my emotional balance will return, and I'll be fine.

As High Maintenance Dramatic Creative Types go, I'm not very dramatic at all, and pretty much self-maintaining. I feel like I failed, somehow.

*removes tongue from cheek embedment*

On the plus side, my knife arrived and it is shiny! and fits perfectly in my hand, and there is butternut squash soup and savory chicken stew filling up the freezer, and I have brand new 300+ count sheets to sleep in, and there is red wine to have with the brown rice and steak for dinner, and I wrote another 2,000+ new words I'm pleased with and did research for the short story I'm not writing yet.

And I no longer want to beweep my outcast state (although I might yet change my state with kings)

So I guess my balance is back. Sometimes it's good to be predictable.

Are you sure you want some fan stalkers? You know the old saying "be careful what you wish for..." After all, not all stalkers are going to look like those swimmers you got your photo taken with at DragonCon...

As for the mood swings, I'm used to them. My wife has them, and I've adjusted. When she gets upset over something and then crashes heavily an hour or so later, I keep telling her that the things aren't important, but that you have friends and family are. It doesn't seem to help, but I keep plugging away.

Just know that you've got people in your corner, and things will work out.

I really like your writing, if it helps any? It's just insanely hard to get anything except Staying Dead here in awwwstrayliuh. Well, Perth. We're the most isolated major city on the planet, and we do things backwards sometimes.

When I have enough money, I'm ordering them all in and camping out for a couple of days.

I -know-. Aah. For a hardcover, it's nearly fifty dollars. A single book is anywhere from fifteen to twenty five, and the larger type books can be up to thirty two dollars. I spend a lot of money on books.

(my borders is a stupid borders, and fills their shelves with dexter and twilight. I will make a complaint and order your books in)

I like your books that I've gotten my grubby paws on so far! :) (The more recent ones are on my to buy list currently, and are just waiting for me to snag them next time I'm at B&N, as I hadn't been reading fantasy much in the past couple years and am just now getting back into it, hehe!)

And ooh, shiny knife? Do tell! I'm a bit of a newbie at cooking still, but slowly turning into a fiend in the kitchen. :)

I'm glad that you only need to trouble deaf Heaven with your bootless cries for short-ish periods of time.

Do we count as fangrrrls/fanboiz?

Hooray!

Actually, I head it as a four-part a capella mixed choir piece before I encountered it as a sonnet :)

Flexible cutting 'boards' - not as durable, but easy to store and cheap to replace every year or so. Color coding helps with cross contamination prevention:

The following is for illustration only, not the brand I use. Mine come with a heavy base and are currently not avail except as replacements..

As for pots, they may not be trendy, but Caphalon is the way to go. (and since not trendy, often on sale!)

And oh yeah, 300+ count sheets? How barbaric!!

We're up to 1200 now, with 600 count for the guest bed :)

oooh nice :) Santoku knives have quickly become my favorites, beating out even the heirloom level set handed down from my mom, (With the noteable exception of the Chef Knife of Doom, reserved for cutting across entire small pizzas at once and destroying any would be intruder if the need ever arises). Definitely agree on the Calphalon, I have a set of their baking pans that I can't get enough of. :)

Alas, I am far too grounded and pragmatic to really Wallow, no matter how much I might wish to, sometimes.

Darn that left brain anyhow!

Why are there more nubile female fans than male fans? I call foul!

There are? Maybe I should take up writing... No no, scratch that.

Actually, the 1200s hold up REALLY well to cat claws. Better than the 300s I used to use.

I hear you on the ups and downs. Done that, wear the medal.

But you must know (somewhere) that you are fabulous -- or do I have to come up there and forcibly convince you?

PS -- I've been your fangrrl for years.
