lagilman: coffee or die (meerkat meh)

return of various & sundry, personal remix

Periodically I think things like "we need a puppy, that's what we need."

And then one of the cats slaps me, and all goes back to wellness.

Also.

1. Kudeta makes fabulous gyoza. Yum.

2. The usual interpretation for someone dreaming of books does not always hold when it is a writer/editor dreaming of books... (my subconscious is being Captain Obvious again).

3. I really need a certain level of deadline stress and activity 4-6 days a week. Otherwise I have days like yesterday, wherein I did a decent amount of work (including invoicing for said work) and still felt like a complete and total slacker. I was accused of being a workaholic. If so, I'm the laziest damn workaholic ever...

4. I seem to have developed mild later-life pollen allergies. Or maybe it's just New Haven pollen that is mighty. Either way, I'm cranky about it.

And now, to the day.

this has been the day that was.

thanks to [personal profile] nycdeb (well, I'm blaming her, anyway) I am now auditioning all comers for the position of Patron.

Requirements: the willingness and ability to provide:

  • maid service on a weekly basis
  • groceries paid for and delivered to my kitchen (no need to cook, I can do that myself)
  • praise and admiration when the author does something noteworthy (like making deadline)
  • chocolates, wine, and foie gras
  • the services of a masseuse five times a year (quarterly, and on my birthday)

In return, the Patron will receive my undying gratitude, and a place in the acknowledgements of every book I write while under their patronage.

Line forms to the left, please no pushing and shoving, everyone will be interviewed in turn...

apropos of nothing

"Guarding Tess" is still one of my all-time favorite movies. It's just pretty damn much perfect.
