Me-Con

Shamelessly stolen from [livejournal.com profile] sdn --

If they were to build a convention around you, what would it be like? What would be the focus of programming? The dealer's room? The film program? Where would it be held? What would it be called?

(yes, this is cat-waxing by proxy. If you're busy posting here, I'll feel fabulous about the small amount of work I'll have gotten done in the meanwhile... There is a madness to my method!)

... cat... waxing...?

Focus of programming would be fan culture and history thereof, and writing, both amateur and pro. The dealer's room would look a lot like Worldcon, only with a new & used zine enclave tacked on. Considering my general worth vis a vis the universe at large, it would be held solely in my imagination, which would at least make my splurges in the dealer's room cheaper.

Welcome to ProcrastinaCon, to be held, um, next year... or the year after that.

The program, which will finally arrive on Sunday at about noon, will have items like "The unfinished novel", "the unfinished short story" "the unstarted novel" "the unstarted short story", "Great Ideas that Never Were" and "So So Ideas that Never were, but you can claim they're great and how could anyone prove you wrong?"

So we've gone from cat vacuuming to cat waxing... the poor cat.

When she goes for cat liposuction and makeup tips, let's get her help.

Hmm. While I'm blanking on a name, I am thinking that there should be a whole track of panels, starting with "Wine 101", "Building your own Wine Cellar", and the ever popular, "Matching Wine and Food", moving up to the invitation-only "Scotch Extraveganza".

Well, there's already MonkeyCon, not to mention JayCon which meets annually in June in Portland, OR.

So...

BadgerCon will be held near Fairfield, Virginia late in 2007. It will feature many many books and DVDs, none of which you will be able to take home with you.

Film will be classic television. Programming will be Life, the Universe, Horses, Cats, and Everything Else.
