hither and yon but still here...

I know a lot of people are cranky at LJ, but seriously, folks - a DDoS attack of that strength would shut down pretty much everyone short of Microsoft. Blame the people who're responsible, not the victim...

That said, I'll probably do as everyone else is, and start blogging on my website and mirroring here. I've been on LJ since forever, so don't expect to close up shop entirely, any time soon. besides, I not only post here - I read here.

And, for those who're still around, tonight's food porn:

Fresh bicolor corn, grilled with butter, and a salad of baby greens and roasted red peppers, tossed with skillet-browned garlic and feta cheese. A veritable vegetarian feast - and beautiful on the plate, too. I'd take a picture, but I was too hungry to find the camera.

"besides, I not only post here - I read here"

Exactly. Me too.

Actually this attack would probably have taken out even Microsoft or Apple. Based on the packet volume numbers I have seen, this one is HUGE and sustained.

Also, please let this serve as a reminder to make sure your anti-virus software is up to date and you have done a recent scan. These attacks are botnet based, by keeping your computers out of the botnets, you too can prevent internet fires. This message brought to you by Webby the Digital Unicorn.

I'm with you on this, (though I should find myself a mirror site.) I am very fond of the "one stop shopping" to keep up with bloggers I care about.
