WE'RE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!

*dies*

(and it didn't help that the concom kept buying me drinks.... wheee!)

EtA: All right, I'm now on my own laptop and not borrowing someone elses... we ([livejournal.com profile] quarkwiz and her spouse P, and a few others) sat in the hotel bar and watched the game, cheering and swearing and pacing up and down and yes I got down on my knees to beg for a good play once or twice, I admit it. Going in we had agreed that all we wanted was a good game, one that woulnd't make us cringe. Well, we got that, in spades. Hoo yah.

That was, in short, a Hell of a Game. Both teams played their frozen arses off, and nobody's got a damned thing to be ashamed of. Except maybe a certain kicker, who gets to live (barely) but dayum if he didn't take years off our lives with attempts 1 and 2...

The Superbowl is almost anticlimactic after this game. WTG, Blue!

Well, you know, as far as heredity goes, I have to go with the Opposition, but this still makes me smile. Way to go, big guys!

We won. We won. I keep saying to myself we won.

The boys did good. I just kept thinking nope we're not gonna do it.

Wow.

Yeah, the hubby isn't happy.

I haven't been on lj in a while, but I knew you'd be excited too, so I had to sign on to cheer over this! Go Giants!

(P.S. It is totally Sean's fault the game had to go into overtime. He was at my grandparents' house watching the game with us, and just before that kick at the end of the fourth quarter, he made a comment that he couldn't believe just a few weeks ago people were talking about firing the Giants' coach, and now they're going to the Superbowl. I told him "Don't say that yet!" but it was too late -- the snap was high, the kick was wide, and I told him if they lost it would be all his fault.)

Hee! I saw the score on my feed, and was just about to post in my own lj about how I thought I'd heard you celebrating from here...

Pleeeeeeeeeease beat the Pats. Please? There is no end to my loathing for that team and their gag retch insert hairball noise here coach.

Yes indeed, that's going to be one entertaining game.

I think we'll go to Archie Moore's and see if I'm the only one in full Pats regalia, or if it turns out to be a Giants shrine ... we can always escape to Sully's on Chapel Street if the going gets too rough. ;)

Ohhh we are bouncing off the walls here (although the Giants nearly killed us a few times with those heartattack moments!). Kev's a complete Giants fan, and I've been a Pats girl since teenagerhood (y'know, when they were losers *laughs*). This is like the Best Matchup we could imagine. Not to mention that the in-season game between them was fabulous, so I'm hoping for a great bowl game. *fingers crossed*

I find myself in the odd position of being an Eagles fan rooting for the Giants because I really hate the Pats (same reason I hate Steinbrenner of the Yankees, they have a certain 'rules no longer apply to us' arrogance that teams that win a lot in a short time can develop - well the coach seems to).
