cool-sounding words; what if your dictionary and thesarus have gone AWOL or MIA or even LWAHoR(lost without hope of recovery)? serious if you want to use something like that as a character quirk don't?
Seriously? You don't establish a character quirk by misusing a word. You may have the character mis-use a word, but that's a different thing entirely. Doing that means that you-the-author have to know exactly what the word means, and why/how the character would mis-use it.
