to excerpt, or not to excerpt:

that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to offer
The words and quips of unpublished section,
Or to stay silent in the face of fandom,
And by not posting annoy them? To stay mute: to post;
No more; and by not post to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand rude comments
That fandom is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To finish, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to revise: ay, there's the rub;
For in that revision letter what changes may come
When we have already given our fannish morsels,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of offering early looks;

(at which point my dad, having heard me out, said with equal amounts dismay and pride: "that's terrible." And so I cease).

But the question remains: anyone out there want an early excerpt from BURNING BRIDGES? Or would you rather wait?

ETA: the excerpts from the first two books are still available on my web site:

Staying Dead
Curse the Dark

I was going back and forth with that 123 meme as well. For one thing, you end up with a line of dialog that's intriguing, but gives away a plot point. I'm going to additionally burden your shoulders only posting if you post.

Yeah, I could do with one or several … to distract me from fuzzy eigenvectors.

::chuckle:: J'accuse! Humoriste!

Yes, I would love to have an excerpt or many. Don't need a preview of an 'in progress'.

Thing is, if you offer bits, as if you were doing a reading, you would (perhaps) entice them into buying the rest.

(Love your, erm, poem.)

I've only read some of your short stories, so my vote goes to something that'd interest me in buying a book or two.

That works just fine! ^^

I can always find a hole in the schedule for Wren and Sergei. Just let me know so I'm looking for the attached file/manuscript.

To excerpt or not, that choice is yours - either way the anxious, but sweet pain of waiting for the whole is ours. Bravo on the poetic salute o' great Surrishakespeare.
