Good grief. I thought they only hung out in Guatemala. How hot is your bathroom?

what, orb-weavers? They're all over the east coast - I had one that used to build the most lovely webs outside the front window of my apartment in New Haven.

These are about the size of a silver dollar, and I suspect they overwinter in the eaves outside, and slide in through the bathroom window to grab a drink. I don't mind them (anything that eats mosquitoes is a friend of mine), I just don't want them sharing a shower (or a bed, there are limits) with me.
